THE FELICE BROTHERS / STRAND OF OAKS

2-7-15 Cannon's Blackthorn, Rockville Centre NY

Tim Showalter, of Strand Of Oaks, may look like a scary biker, but nothing could be further from the truth.  He arrived with his band on time from Philly.  They jumped out of their tour van, greeted us with hugs, and immediately started helping shovel snow outside Cannon's.  That same sense of community was seen through the set.  At one point Tim raised a glass to Tommy and said, "We as a band are very honored to be here to play for such a special cause, and for such a special man that is so obviously loved. Here's to Tommy!"

We have had many sellouts, but for some reason the excitement from this crowd for The Felice Brothers made the room seem more packed than any other show to date.  They did not disappoint with a 90 minute set that ended with a "Keep on Rocking in the Free World".

These bands have very different sounds, but their enthusiasm for The Tommy Brull Foundation was exactly the same. Both bands returned later in the year to play for us again.
